Characters appear on the
screen, but are garbled.
Verify that the EMM and the terminal
settings match for baud, data bits,
stop bits, and parity. These values are
explained in Chapters 3.
The SET command doesn't
work.
Make sure you are logged in as the
Administrator and that you are
connected to the master EMM.
Abbreviated input is used and
pressing [SPACE] does not
complete the input.
Enter enough characters for the EMM
to distinguish between different
commands and options.
Random characters are lost. Set the flow control on the terminal
to XON/XOFF.
Characters are lost when
connected to the EMM through
a modem.
Make sure the STOP_BITS value on
the terminal is set to 2 STOP_BITS.
The management prompt on
the screen is not as you set it.
You may be connected to a remote
device. Refer to the REMOTE_LOGIN
and LOGOUT commands.
Power up (switchover) brings up
a different configuration than
the one last set.
Make sure you SAVE your
configuration changes.
Verify that the DIP_CONFIGURATION
setting is disabled by using the SHOW
DEVICE command.
You are not receiving any
statistics from the concentrator.
Check that the EMM and the
modules in the concentrator are not
isolated.
