[RECORD] key
• While the [SAFE/READY] indicator is lit, pressing this key automatically
creates a new file and starts recording (see page 52 for details).
If the optional TC/SYNC card is installed, a time code can be striped together
with audio signals, according to the setting of the "Gen Mode" menu item of
the "TC SETUP" menu in the MENU mode (see page 80 for details).
• If the Pre rec mode is set to "ON", pressing this key starts recording from the
audio data stored in the buffer (see page 54 for details).
<Note>:
If record-protection is set to on, pressing this key brings up the
warning message, while the unit does not start recording.
25) [OPEN/CLOSE] key
Pressing this key opens or closes the disk tray.
When a disk is loaded, the unit responds differently depending on the disk, as
described below.
Unused formatted disk:
The display shows "-No files!-".
Recorded disk:
Normally, the recorder locates to the beginning (ABS 0) of "PGM1" (the earliest
recorded audio file on the disk).
Note that, however, if the "Resume" menu item of the "DISC UTILITY" menu in
the MENU mode is set to "ON" and the resume file is correctly set, the recorder
locates to the beginning of the resume file (see page 154 for details).
Unformatted disk:
The unit recognizes that the loaded disk is unformatted and automatically brings
up the "Format" menu item of the "DISC UTILITY" menu in the MENU mode (see
page 20 for details).
26) [PHONES] section
The versatile [PHONES] section allows you to monitor in various combinations
of tracks, including mono mix, stereo mix, stereo pair tracks and a solo track
(see page 51 for details).
27) [USB (KYBD ONLY)] port
This port is used for connecting to a USB keyboard (see page 41 for details).
According to the connected keyboard, set the “keyboard type” menu item in
the “SYS SETUP” menu of the MENU mode appropriately (see page 123 for
details).

• While stopped, pressing this key while holding down the [STOP] key locates
to the last recording position (REC END) of the current audio file.
<Note>:
The maximum cueing speed depends on the FS and the number of
tracks of a file.
