DVD Multitrack Recorder DV824
The DV824 can play back audio CDs (in the CD-DA format), as well as play back files
on a DVD-RAM disk. You can operate the DV824 for playing back an audio CD in a
similar way to an ordinary CD player.
Audio CD playback
Before playing back an audio CD by the unit, we recommend setting the "CD stop
mode" menu item in the "SYS SETUP" menu of the MENU mode appropriately (see the
next page).
The currently se-
lected track number
is shown.

ting via the quick
setup mode or the
"CD stop mode"

"SYS SETUP" menu
of the MENU mode.

The FS/Bit and the number of tracks of the disc are shown.
2) Press the [ PLAY] key to start playback.
When an audio CD is loaded, you can execute the following operations in addition
to normal playback.
• Locating to the beginning (or end) of a disc (see page 61)
While stopped, press the [REWIND] (or [F FWD]) key while holding down the
[STOP/HOME] key.
• Locating to a desired time position (see page 62)
Press the [SHIFT] key, followed by the [LOCATE] key. Then enter the desired time
value and press the [LOCATE] key.
• Cueing playback (see page 60).
Press the [REWIND] or [F FWD] key during playback.
• Track skip (see page 61)
Press the [SKIP/CURSOR ] or [SKIP/CURSOR ] key while stopped or during
playback mode.
• Track selection in FILE SEL mode (see the next page)
<Note>:
The DV824 can play back CD-DA format audio CDs including commercially avail-
able audio CDs. Note that, however, it may not be able to play back some CDs such as
copy-controlled CDs which are disc-protected.
Using the unit, you may play back commercially available audio CDs for your personal
use and enjoyment only. You may not use it for any commercial purpose whatsoever.
Unauthorized use is a violation of applicable laws and subject to criminal prosecution.
1) Set an audio CD to the tray and load it.
The unit automatically recognizes the CD as the CD-DA format disc and the
display shows the Home screen for audio CD. The screen shows the following
information.
