Outline of Zapping
What is Zapping?
Zapping is the function to call up easily and sequentially only desired channels,
enabling channel selection from multiple channels grouped by genre. For
example, if you create a “NEWS” group by gathering your favorite news
channels together, you can select any one channel set to this group.
You can also use Zapping for selecting a disc from a disc changer.
To use the Zapping function, first you need to create a group where you collect
channels. This group is called a “Zapping group”, and each channel contained
in the group is called a “Zapping element.” In the above example, “NEWS” is a
Zapping group and each news channel is a “Zapping element.”
You need to assign a viewer in the Component display to actually operate a
created Zapping group with the Remote Commander.
This viewer is called a “Zapping viewer.” After assigning a Zapping viewer in
the Component display, with the
/ , / keys of the Zapping viewer, you
can switch among elements (channels) in the Zapping group one after another.
