About a “Memory Stick”
What is a “Memory Stick”?
A “Memory stick” is a small and light IC recording media with a storage
capacity larger than a floppy disk. It can be used in specified external connected
devices or as a removable recording media for saving data, as well as a data-
exchangeable media between various “Memory Stick”-compatible devices.
A “Memory Stick” comes in standard size and a more compact size, called
“Memory Stick Duo.” By attaching a “Memory Stick Duo” adaptor, a “Memory
Stick Duo” can also be used with products compatible with a standard-sized
“Memory Stick.”
Notes
• The Remote Commander is not compatible with “Memory Stick Pro.”
• The Remote Commander is not supplied with a “Memory Stick.” You can use functions
described in this chapter after purchasing a “Memory Stick.”
• For details on handling a “Memory Stick”, refer to the instructions supplied with the
“Memory Stick.”
• The Remote Commander consumes considerably more battery power when using a
“Memory Stick” than when operating other functions. Use the AC power adaptor for
“Memory Stick” operation.
About a “Memory Stick Duo”
Before using a “Memory Stick Duo” with the Remote Commander, make sure
to attach it to a “Memory Stick Duo” adaptor to it.
Make sure to insert a “Memory Stick Duo” in the correct direction. If a
“Memory Stick Duo” is inserted in the wrong direction, the device may be
damaged.
Do not insert a “Memory Stick Duo” adaptor into a “Memory Stick”-
compatible device without a “Memory Stick Duo” attached. If used in this
way, the device may be damaged.
About formatting a “Memory Stick”
A “Memory Stick” is already formatted at the factory in original standard
format. If it is necessary to format a “Memory Stick” yourself, format it using
the format function on the Remote Commander (page 209).
Note
If you format a “Memory Stick” using the “Memory Stick” drive on the computer, a
“Memory Stick” cannot be used with “NAVITUS Design” or the Remote Commander.
Make sure to format a “Memory Stick” with the Remote Commander.
