Additional Information
Symptom
A beep sounds five times while
learning.
The Remote Commander fails to
learn the remote control signals.
When the display is in the standby
mode for the remote control signal
input to be learned, the backlight
will not turn on, even if you tap the
display or press a button.
You cannot operate a component
even after you programmed the
remote control signals with the
learning function.
Remedy
• Leaning has not succeeded. After checking the
following, try the learning procedure again
(page 58).
Change the distance between a remote
control of a component and the Remote
Commander.
See “For accurate learning” (page 62).
• When you teach signals of an interactive signal
exchange system remote control unit (supplied
with some Sony receivers and amplifiers) to the
Remote Commander, the response signal of the
main unit, such as an amplifier, may interfere
with the learning of the Remote Commander.
In such a case, move to a place where the
signals will not reach the main unit (e.g.
another room, etc.).
•A component may not satisfy the specifications
for learning corresponding with the Remote
Commander. You cannot use the learning
function for a component that does not satisfy
the specifications corresponding with the
Remote Commander.
•You may have pressed a function key or button
to which the learning signal cannot be set. You
cannot set learning signals to the Component
keys or buttons when the Home display is
shown.
• If the display turns off when the display is in
the standby mode for the remote control signal
input to be learned, the backlight will not turn
on, even if you tap the display or press a
button. If you tap the display or press a button
after the standby mode of the display finishes,
the backlight will turn on.
• The Remote Commander has not correctly
learned the signals. See “For accurate learning”
(page 62) and try the learning procedure again
(page 58).
