Trouble with the Remote Commander’s basic settings
Symptom
You cannot turn the Remote
Commander on.
The display indication turns off.
And you cannot turn the display on
by any operation.
You cannot see the LCD display
clearly.
The display of the Remote
Commander turns off by itself.
The backlight does not light when
adjusting the brightness of the
display.

Remedy
• The batteries may be discharged. Charge the
batteries by connecting the supplied AC power
adaptor to the Battery charging stand, and
loading the Remote Commander on the Battery
charging stand.
Or connect the supplied AC power adaptor
directly to the Remote Commander, and charge
the batteries for more than an hour. After an
hour, the Remote Commander starts
automatically.
• The connectors of the Remote Commander
and/or the Battery charging stand may be
dirty. If the connectors are dirty, the Remote
Commander cannot be charged. Clean the
connectors with a cotton swab.
The batteries are discharged. Charge the Remote
Commander immediately by loading it on the
Battery charging stand or by connecting the AC
power adaptor to the Remote Commander.
• The brightness of the display varies depending
on the angle of view. Adjust the brightness of
the backlight. For details, see “Adjusting the
brightness of the display window’s backlight
(BRIGHTNESS)” (page 218).
This Remote Commander is set at the factory to
turn the display off automatically if you do not
operate it for more than 10 minutes (Automatic-
Off function of the display window). You can
change this setting (page 216).
• When adjusting the brightness, the backlight of
the LCD display lights up automatically.
However, if the brightness is set to minimum,
the display appears dark, so that you may not
see the display clearly. This is not a
malfunction. For details, see “Adjusting the
brightness of the display window’s backlight
(BRIGHTNESS)” (page 218).
• The beep sound is set to OFF. For details, see
“Setting the beep sound (BEEP)” (page 222).
