Home Media Option
Multi-Room Viewing
Multi-Room Viewing lets you transfer programs between your Pioneer DVD Recorder
with TiVo and a second Recorder, or another model of TiVo Series2 Digital Video
Recorder (DVR). To use Multi-Room Viewing:
• Each Recorder (or Series2 DVR) must have an active TiVo service subscription.
(Home Media Option features will work with TiVo Plus service, but not with TiVo
Basic service.)
• The Recorders must be on the same TiVo service account. (The TiVo service
subscription for each Recorder must be owned by the same person.)
• The Recorders must be connected to the same home network. For more information,
see Chapter 8, “Connecting to a Home Network.”
• Home Media Option must be purchased separately for each Recorder.
After you have connected the Recorders to your home network, the Now Playing list of
each Recorder will show the names of the others. Programs transferred to your Recorder
cannot be copied to DVD.
How to Transfer a Program
To transfer a program from one Recorder to another within your home:
1. In Now Playing on the receiving Recorder, select the Recorder containing the program
you want to transfer.
2. Press SELECT on the name of a program you want to transfer. (You cannot transfer a
program while it is still recording.) Then select “Watch on this TV.”
On the Getting Program screen, you can choose to watch the program as it is transferring.
If you do, you might experience intermittent delays in the transfer.
