Will my Recorder still work without any TiVo service?
• The Recorder was designed to be used exclusively with at least one level of TiVo service (such as TiVo Basic or TiVo Plus). TiVo
service is required for proper operation of the Recorder. No functionality is represented, warranted, or should be expected without
TiVo service. TiVo service provides the Recorder with program information to record the programs you request. TiVo service may
also provide you with new Showcases and TiVolution Magazine content. The Recorder must make periodic connections to the TiVo
service to maintain its service level (such as TiVo Basic or TiVo Plus).
What is TiVo Basic service?
• TiVo Basic service allows you to control live TV (pause, fast forward, instant replay), and record programs from a specific channel
at a specific time (much like a VCR) to Now Playing. It also includes an on-screen interactive program guide that provides
information on your favorite shows. In addition, Showcases and TiVolution Magazine help you get more out of your TV time.
What is TiVo Plus service?
• With TiVo Plus service, you can enjoy the benefits of smart, automatic-recording technology. TiVo Plus brings you features such as:
• Season Pass recordings. Automatically record every episode of your favorite series, all season long, even if the schedule
changes.
• WishList searches. Find and record programs by actor, director, sports team, etc.
• Search by Title. Browse for shows by title, filter by genre (like “Comedy”), and more.
• Interactive 14-day program guide. Instantly schedule recordings from an on-screen guide that includes detailed program
information, including show summaries and ratings, for up to 14 days of programming.
• More smart features. TiVo Plus skips reruns, tracks schedule changes, and more!
