FAST
FORWARD
FAST FORWARD is a way to test for proper
functioning of the profiler’s events and
outputs, without having to wait for the profiler
to execute at its normal speed.
When FAST FORWARD is ON, the profiler will
run at a speed determined by the TIME
MULTIPLIER parameter. The higher the time
multiplier, the faster the profiler will run.
Fast Forward is activated by a discrete input.
Example
The Programmer is running at a 500msec
scan rate. The TIME MULTIPLIER is set to
60. Therefore the profiler will run 60 times
faster than normal. The profiler will increment
in (500msec x 60) or 30 second increments.
Put another way, every half-second the profiler
will advance 30 seconds.
See Figure 5-11 Fast Forward.
