3-2 Operations for Nonlinear Editing (Operations in Cut Units)
3-2-5 Cut Overwriting (Editing Using OVERWRITE mode)
In OVERWRITE mode, you set a total of three edit points, both IN points and
either one of the OUT points on the recorder and player, then carry out
overwrite editing.
Operation in OVERWRITE mode
The editing operation in OVERWRITE mode is as follows.
• Regardless of the order in which you set the edit points, once you have set
both player and recorder IN points and either one of the OUT points, you can
execute the edit. The fourth edit point is calculated automatically.

• If all four of the IN and OUT points on the player and recorder are set, then
the OUT point on the recorder takes precedence over the OUT point on the
