Chapter 3 Operations for Linear/Nonlinear Editing 3-63 (E)
3-4 Recorder Selection Function
You can register two different ways in which operation of the keys (R, P1, and
P2 keys) in the MAVE-F555 FILE/PORT ASSIGN operation section
physically control which devices. Carry out the registration operation on the
MAV-555. On the MAVE-F555, by operating the two keys (MAV key and
VTR key) in the RECORDER SEL operation section, you can switch between
the two different settings. This function is known as the “recorder selection
function.”
By using the recorder selection function, after carrying out linear/nonlinear
editing with a VTR as player and the MAV-555 as recorder, you can easily
return the editing result file created on the MAV-555 to the VTR. This makes
it easy to configure an editing system with a single VTR and single MAV-555.
Recorder Switching with the Recorder Selection Function
When switching the Recorder with the Recorder select function, you must
press and hold down the key on the MAV or VTR for at least 2 seconds.
While the setting is switching, the indicator on the pressed key flashes, and
then you will hear a beep when the setting has finished changing. If you
release the key before you hear the beep, the setting will not be changed.
Further, if you press the MAV or VTR key too lightly, the pressed key could
continue to flash and you will have to press the MAV or VTR key again to
restore operation.
