4-2 (E) Chapter 4 Operations When Multiple MAVE-F555 Units Are Connected to the MAV-555
4-1 Allowed Operations
When using the TO MAV (PARALLEL I/O) connector of the MAVE-F555 to
connect the MAVE-F555 to the MAV-555, the allowed operations from the
MAVE-F555 are restricted to the following.
(1) Using the –/+ keys in the FILE/PORT ASSIGN operation section to load a
file on the port being controlled
(2) Using the keys in the BACK GROUND operation section for playback
start/stop (when the port being controlled is a playback port) or recording
start/stop (when the port being controlled is a recording port)
Notes
• When using the TO MAV (PARALLEL I/O) connector to connect the
MAVE-F555 to the MAV-555, it is not possible to carry out operations other
than those listed above, such as nonlinear editing operations. In order to carry
out all of the operations described in Chapter 3, the MAVE-F555 must be
connected to the MAV-555 using the TO MAV connector of the MAVE-
F555.
• When connecting multiple MAVE-F555 units to a single MAV-555, it is
possible to combine an MAVE-F555 connected to the MAV-555 through the
TO MAV (PARALLEL I/O) connector and an MAVE-F555 connected to the
MAV-555 through the TO MAV connector. However, in this case the MAV-
555 must be in BVE mode, and moreover only one MAVE-F555 unit may be
connected to the MAV-555 through the TO MAV connector. Also, when you
make connections in this way, while the MAVE-F555 connected to the
MAV-555 through the TO MAV connector can be used for all of the
operations described in Chapter 3, the only operations allowed for the
MAVE-F555 connected to the MAV-555 through the TO MAV
(PARALLEL I/O) connector are those listed as (1) and (2) above.
• If you connect both the TO MAV (PARALLEL I/O) connector and the TO
MAV connector of a single MAVE-F555 to a single MAV-555, only the
connection through the TO MAV connector is enabled.
