3-2 Operations for Nonlinear Editing (Operations in Cut Units)
1 INSERT/EXTRACT mode
Trimming in this mode changes the total duration of the file.
When you start trimming with the INSERT mode or EXTRACT mode
selected, the [
] and [ ] keys both light and the system is in the
INSERT/EXTRACT mode.
The example below shows trimming the OUT point in the INSERT or
EXTRACT mode.

Moving the OUT point after its original position with trimming
The edited interval is inserted with trimming and the total duration is
lengthened (the same as normal editing in the INSERT mode).

The edited interval is deleted with trimming and the total duration is
shortened (the same as normal editing in the EXTRACT mode).

lengthened. As a result, the time data for all cut points after the trimmed
