The Modify configuration right enables the operator to start a Maintenance Session and use a site’s:
Event tab
Serial Devices tab
Video tab, for Motion
Who can receive alarms?
A different right is needed to use an Alarm session. A View operator needs a Multi SA to:
Add the Process alarms right to the operator’s user account. This enables a View operator to:
receive, view, acknowledge and rearm alarms. See
Right to Use Maintenance, on p. 180.
Grant access to site(s) to operator(s).
Logging an Event

1. Start a Maintenance Session for the Rapid Eye site. Please wait until the “System
Operational” message appears.
2. Depending on the type of event that you want to set, either:
Click the Events tab. More tabs appear; see table
10–5: Event Reference, by
Source and Tab, p. 190. Select the smaller tab (Session, System, and so on) that
lists the event that is to be set as an alarm.
Click the Serial Devices tab. Select a device and one of its events.
Click the Video tab; then Motion. For Motion detection settings, see
Motion
Detection, on p.
116.
3. To set the event to enter an item in the event log, click the Log checkbox next to the
event, so that it shows a checkmark.
Inputs can be additionally configured as either NO, NC or EOL.
For a
Customer-device event, you must also click Update after clicking the Log
checkbox.
