Standalone Unit and a PC that Has a Network Card
To use a direct connection to a Multi-Media unit, you need a network crossover cable.

LocalView
For a single Multi-Media unit or Multi-Media LT unit, onsite operators have the option of using
LocalView instead of a PC. See

Network-like connection
For standalone PCs connected directly to a unit, using a network crossover cable, use a network
connection. Match the network settings of Microsoft Windows running on the PC to the default
address, subnet mask and gateway of the Multi-Media unit. The defaults are listed in table
3–3,
below.
