Pad Operations by Function, Track Type, and Sequencer Mode

Operation
Function Mode Type
LP
● No event is recorded.
● If track is not muted, plays out sample in accordance with current
tempo setting and all current knob and track settings; except that if
BPM TRACKING is set to SLICE, the sample will play out at its origi-
nal speed regardless of the current tempo setting and loop-length set-
ting. If you hold down the pad, the playback will loop.
CL
● Pressing the pad generates a Note On event; releasing the pad gener-
ates a Note Off event.
● These events are recorded with respect to their location within the
loop, not with respect to the location in the song.
FR
● Pressing the pad generates a Note On; releasing it generates a Note Off.
● These events are recorded with respect to their location in the song.
AU, MA ● The pad does not operate.
LP
● If track is muted, no sound.
● If track is not muted, plays out sample in accordance with current
tempo setting and all current knob and track settings; except that if

a “roll” at the current song location, at the speed determined by the roll
resolution setting (as of the time the pad was pressed).
AU, MA ● The pad does not operate.
PLAY

● While you hold down ROLL and press the pad, the sequencer produces
a “roll” sound, at the speed determined by the roll resolution setting (as
of the time the pad was pressed).
● Any recorded playback on the track is suppressed while the roll is held.
AU, MA ● The pad does not operate.
